Essa was a corporal in the Army for ten years, being a part of different units/regiments and also had a previous role as an HR administrator. Upon leaving the Army, he pursued HR opportunities with the NHS and is now a People Advisor at Salisbury District Hospital.

David worked as an avionics aircraft technician in the RAF for 29 years before joining the NHS as a Radiology Engineer. David now uses his knowledge, skills and experience gained from the RAF to change procedures in a clinical setting at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital King’s Lynn NHS Foundation Trust.

Naomi joined the RAF as a Survival Equipment Specialist in March 2000. After signing up to Step into Health, she undertook a work placement at Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital and secured an administrator position.

Esther is married to a guardsman in the Coldstream Guards, based in Windsor. With a one year old daughter and her husband often away on exercises, she knows first‑hand the challenges of balancing family life with the demands of military service. 

Emily spent nine years serving as a medic in the Royal Navy, she was the person people relied on when it mattered most, which led her to making a step into a career as a pharmacy technician.
