To mark Armed Forces Week 2021, Step into Health joined Careers Sitrep, a regular live stream hosted by RFEA, The Forces Employment Charity.

The session focused on the importance of veterans in the NHS and was chaired by Commodore Alistair Halliday, Chief Executive of RFEA.

Guests included Annette Berry, RFEA Employment Advisor, as well as Deborah Poneskis, Programme Lead for Step Into Health and Jim Holland, Urgent Care Assistant for the Welsh Ambulance Service, who offered their unique insight into:

  • joining ‘civvy street’
  • key attributes of veterans and their importance in the civilian workforce
  • the value of veterans in the NHS
  • top tips for job seekers.
